Official T-shirt Store
I’m a fan of t-shirts for sloganeering. I choose carefully what I wear and like to pack a punch with a message. I’ve always thought that my back catalogue of tees, which are neatly folded and stored away, quite clearly define my life and times. There are some I’ve grown apart from, some I’ve grown out of, and some that I’m actually wholly embarrassed by. But at the time I loved them.
The design started years back; one Christmas I made a piece of artwork for Megan. Over the Autumn I collected the cluster flies which had perished in the windows of the house and then I glued them delicately on to some stenciled letters which read LOVE LIFE. I wanted her to think about the value of life, however small, or despised, and to begin to realise that everything wants to live, that nothing wants to die and that we should never fail to respect this.
I chose to work with Teemill for a raft of good reasons. They're local to me, they're sorted ethically in terms of sustainability and profitability, they allow flexibility in the choice of garments or goods and the stuff they produce feels good to wear. I’m planning to do plenty more designs, mostly to get people thinking, but also because I hope they will want to help spread the word on their chests.
